Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Mascaro Plays Hero as Bport Tops Keuka 1-0 at Home

Brockport's Julia Mascaro netted what proved to be the game-winner just 43 seconds into the second half of the contest from 20 yards out past the outstretched hands of the Keuka goalie as the Golden Eagles earned a 1-0 victory against the visiting Wolves on Wednesday afternoon.

Brockport (3-1-1) has now won two in a row, and they have outscored their opponents 5-0 over the course of their last two victories.  Bport returns to the grass on Saturday when it hosts local rival RIT for a non-conference clash at 1 p.m.

Golden Eagle goalie Kayla Usborne stopped one shot as she picked up her third shutout of the young season.  Mascaro now has seven points on the season to lead the team with two goals and three assists.

Brockport dominated possession and outshot the visitors 13-3 on the afternoon.  Six of Brockport's shot were on net.  The Golden Eagles also earned a 7-1 advantage in corner kicks.  Kiley Longin and Sydnee Smith each posted a team-high three shots for the green and gold.

Keuka goalie Sam Pelcher stopped five shots in goal for the Wolves.

Next Friday, Sept. 24th, the Golden Eagles will begin SUNYAC Conference play at home against New Paltz.
