Brockport, NY – The SUNY Brockport field hockey team fell to visiting New Paltz in Saturday mornings contest. New Paltz (6-1,1-0) managed to shutout Brockport (4-4,0-1) in the contest as the Hawks scored four goals on the Golden Eagles in both teams first SUNYAC contest.
After a scoreless first quarter, New Paltz would score its first goal at the 23:33 mark when Julia Cummings managed to find the back of the net for the Hawks picking up an assist from Jessica Ascencao. Shannon Berhhardt recorded New Paltz second goal with 14 second remaining in the second quarter of the game. 13:27 into the second half Julia Cummings picked up an assist in the game as she managed to help Morgan Woolley record a goal for the hawks to increase New Paltz lead to 3-0. At the 50:07 mark Morgan Gunter found the back of the cage on a corner with Hannah Ackerman and Amanda Quennville picking up assists on the play to give the Hawks the 4-0 win.

Emma Acevedo managed to step up to the challenge again recording a new season high of 14 saves against a total of 21 shots. New The Hawks out shot Brockport 21-3, recorded three more penalty corners (8-5) while drawing more fouls than the Golden Eagles (18-12).
The Golden Eagles return to action on Wednesday, September 29th where they'll host Houghton College for a 7:15 p.m. non- conference contest.
