Brockport, NY – The SUNY Brockport women's soccer team hosted Oneonta on Saturday for another SUNYAC matchup. The game ended in a 1-1 draw, as Brockport's record moves to 4-2-2 overall and 1-0-1 in the conference.
The lone goal for the Golden Eagles came midway through the first half.
Julia Mascaro received a great ball from
Sydnee Smith off of a free kick opportunity. Mascaro finished in front of the net for the goal, with Smith getting the assist.
Kayla Usborne made seven saves in the contest for the Green and Gold, playing the full 110 minutes in the match. The result of the match was reflected in the box score as both teams had four corner kick chances and Brockport had just one more shot on goal than Oneonta.
Mascaro's goal came in the 30
th minute of the first half of regulation, giving Brockport a 1-0 lead going into halftime. The visiting Red Dragons would score the equalizer in the 75
th minute of the match tying the score up at 1-1.
With neither team able to score down the stretch in regulation, with the score still tied the game went into overtime. Each team had a shot in overtime, but no goals before the final horn resulted in a draw between the conference foes.
The Golden Eagles now prepare for the University of Rochester for a meeting on Tuesday, September 28
th. The match will be on the road, beginning at 7 pm.
