Rochester, NY – The SUNY Brockport women's soccer team visited the University of Rochester Tuesday night for a non-conference match. The Golden Eagles scored first but would ultimately fall by a score of 2-1, dropping their overall record to 4-3-2.
Junior Camryn Pettit opened the scoring with her first goal of in the season for the Golden Eagles in the 5th minute of the game. Brockport held an early 1-0 advantage but it would not last long.
Rochester would tie the game at 1-1 just over four minutes later as Jordyn Kowalkowski took a feed from Natalie Kocsis and fired a shot into the top right hand corner.
The game would remain tied until 75th minute when Robin de Jong fired home a feed from Syd Coggins from 12 yards out to put the Yellowjackets up for good.
Rochester outshot Brockport 21-10 in the game, even though the Golden Eagles held a 5-4 advantage in corner kicks.
Freshman Victoria Cangialosi would make her first collegiate start in goal for the Green and Gold, recording 7 saves in the game. Rochester's Emma Schechter finished with 3 saves between the pipes.
The Golden Eagles return to play on October 2nd, when they host conference rival Geneseo at Eunice Kennedy Shriver Stadium at 4pm.
