Volleyball Drops Two on Final Day of Messiah Tournament

Grantham, PA – The SUNY Brockport volleyball team finished up its weekend on Saturday with two matches on the final day of the Messiah College Tournament. The squad fell to Messiah College, 3-0, and #11 Juniata College 3-0 on the day.
 
Match 1
 
The Green and Gold faced off with the host school, Messiah College, to start the day. The first two sets were taken by Messiah with the score being 25-22 and 25-23. The third and final set was controlled by Messiah, with the final score reading 25-16.
 
Andrea Coyle led the team with 10 kills, while Meaghan Mastro tallied nine of her own. Mastro also had two total blocks, having one solo and one assist.
 
Madalyn Bowen led the squad with 15 digs and even had one service ace. Jordan Thompson also had a service ace, to go with six kills. Kerri McHale registered 20 assists in the match to go with her five digs.
 
Match 2
 
The second and final matchup of the day saw Brockport take on #11 Juniata College. Juniata ran away with a 3-0 win taking three sets by the scores of 25-15, 25-11, and 25-16.
 
Meaghan Mastro's eight kills were a team-high and she also added six digs to her stat line. Megan Muehlbauer finished with five kills and three digs.
 
Ellen Paddock led the Green and Gold with 10 digs in the match, while Ashley Allen led the way with 10 assists. Kerri McHale contributed with five assists and even earned a service ace.
 
With back-to-back losses on the day the Golden Eagles are now 9-4 overall this season. They jump back into SUNYAC play on Friday, October 1st with a trip to Cortland for a 6 pm start.
