Geneseo, NY – The SUNY Brockport women's basketball lost a close contest to Geneseo on Friday night, 52-49. The loss puts the teams record at 8-5 overall and 3-4 in the SUNYAC this season.
Kylee Rosbrook had her best game of the season as she finished with 20 points and a season-high 17 rebounds to notch the double-double. It is her second double-double fo the year and the second time she has broken 20 points.
Erin Nolan was the only other double-digit scorer for the Green and Gold, as she posted 11 points and four rebounds. Nolan has now scored at least 10 points in four consecutive outings.
Strong three-point shooting helped give Geneseo an edge in the early part of the game, as the home team took a 19-12 lead after one. Rosbrook got it going in the second quarter to help close the gap as Brockport kept it close. The score would be tied at 31-31 heading into halftime.
After going back-and-forth for most of the third quarter, the Knights eventually created a short edge on the scoreboard, 42-37. They led by just two points heading into the fourth. Although Brockport kept it close, Geneseo did just enough to remain in the lead down the stretch. The Knights squeaked away with a 52-49 win over the Green and Gold.
Kiley Snow led Geneseo with 16 points off the bench as the team improved to 5-6 overall and 2-3 in the SUNYAC. Kelly McLaughlin also hit double digits with 11 points in the game, while Lauren Romito tallied eight points and 10 boards.
The Golden Eagles are back on their home floor next week for some more conference action. They host the Cortland Red Dragons for a 2 pm tip-off on Tuesday, January 18
th.
