The SUNY Brockport wrestling program sent a handful of wrestlers to the Jamestown Open hosted by Jamestown Community College on Sunday.  Brockport's Joe Yanis (285) and Nick Franco (197) each posted a first-place finish at the meet for the Golden Eagles. 
 
Brockport returns to the mat on Wednesday when it travels to local rival RIT for a dual meet at 7 p.m.

Nick Franco went 4-0 for the Golden Eagles and earned the top spot on the 197 podium.  He won a major decision in his first match of the day and went on to defeat Thiel's Braydon Herbster via fall in 2:59 in the first-place match. 
 
Brockport's Joe Yanis won the 285-pound division and earned 22 team points for Brockport.  He was a perfect 4-0 on the day and posted three pins to go along with a major decision win over Jamestown's Alex Christy in the first-place match. 
 
Francis Whitehouse went 5-1 on the day and finished in third place in the 141-pound division to earn 17.5 team points for Brockport.  He posted two pins on the day and won a 10-3 decision against Hiram's Alex Savering in the third-place match. 
 
Sam Grey went 5-1 on the day and took home third place in the 157-pound weight class.  He posted three pins, one major decision victory and won the third-place match in sudden victory (8-6) over teammate Max Ebanks. 
 
Corey Snyder placed third in the 174-pound division after posting a 3-1 record on the day.  He won his first match via major decision and went on to pin Hiram's Jimmy Thomas in 1:34 in the third-place match to earn 14.5 team points. 
 
Michael Fronczak placed fourth in the 165-pound weight class for the Golden Eagles.  He went 2-2 on the day. He earned a sudden victory, 8-6, win in the quarterfinals on Sunday. 
 
Max Ebanks went 4-2 on the day for the Golden Eagles and he placed fourth in the 157-pound division. He totaled 15.5 team points for Brockport.  He had two fall victories and lost a heartbreaker in the third-place matchup, in sudden victory, against teammate Sam Grey. 
 
Jonah Poueriet went 2-2 on the day and placed fifth at 165 for Brockport.  He pinned Hiram's Kwame Stewart in just 39 seconds in the second round of the consolation bracket.  He won the fifth-place match via medical forfeit to earn 11.5 team points for Brockport.
