Women's Soccer Celebrates Senior Day, Comes Up Short Against New Paltz

Brockport, NY – The SUNY Brockport women's soccer team fell to SUNY New Paltz 2-0 at their last home game of the season. Brockport is now 4-7-3 overall and 3-4-1 in conference. New Paltz is 9-3-1 overall and 6-2-0 in the SUNYAC.
 
The Golden Eagles celebrated the achievements of eight seniors today before starting line ups were announced. Lara Kanbur, Julia Mascaro, Franchesca Polcaro, Kiley Longin, Camryn Pettit, Brylie Hapeman, Kayla Usborne and Sydnee Smith were all recognized and thanked for their contributions to the program.
 
Brockport recorded 19 shots throughout the 90-minute match. Emily Maczka led the team in shots with five. Kiley Longin, Kaleigh Pettit and Lucy Crounse were close behind with three and Sydnee Smith followed with two.
 
Ally Donovan of New Paltz scored the game's goal at 17:28 in the first half, assisted by teammate Siena Diaz-Colon. The second goal was scored a couple of minutes later at 20:51 by Brooke Kelleher, assisted by Maggie Cameron.
 
Kayla Usborne spent 90 minutes in the goal making six total saves but allowing two goals. 
 
The Golden Eagles will be on the road for the remainder of the season as they continue to fight for a spot in the upcoming SUNYAC Tournament. They travel down to SUNY Cortland on Saturday, October 22nd for the final conference match of the regular season.
