Brockport, NY – The SUNY Brockport field hockey team has two games on slate for the week. Brockport travels to take on Wells College at 4pm on Tuesday, October 18
th. Then its Senior Day at home on Saturday, October 22
nd when Oneonta is in town for a 12pm start on Bob Boozer Field.
Senior Day: Saturday will be Senior Day for the Brockport field hockey program. Prior to the start of the game there will be a short ceremony to recognize and thank the graduating class for their contributions to SUNY Brockport. Here are the players that will be celebrated on Senior Day:

Last Time Out: Over the weekend the Golden Eagles snagged a big win in conference play, defeating Oswego on the road, 1-0.
Paige Thowe would score the only goal of the match in the first quarter. Brockport would hold onto its slim edge through the finish line to improve to 8-5 overall and 2-2 in the SUNYAC. The squad has now won three games in a row as the regular season nears its conclusion.
Offensive Player of the Week: On Monday,
Paige Thowe was named the SUNYAC Offensive Player of the Week. Thowe totaled six points from three goals in two games for Brockport last week, as the team defeated Medaille and Oswego. Paige would score back-to-back goals in the third quarter, separated by only one minute and one second in the win over Medaille. Thowe then came back with what became the game-winning goal in a, 1-0, win over Oswego in SUNYAC play.
Defensive Player of the Week: Ella Buchanan was selected as the SUNYAC Defensive Player of the Week after helping the Golden Eagles shutout three straight opponents. She has now been named SUNYAC Defensive Player of the Week three times this year. She was in net for 52:44 in the team's, 5-0, win over Medaille without allowing a goal. In the next game against Oswego, Buchanan came up with five saves on the way to a, 1-0, win for Brockport on the road. Going for 58:23 of action she allowed no goals to score once again.
Heating Up: With the regular season beginning to wind down, the Golden Eagles are getting hot at just the right time. They are currently riding the momentum of a three-game win streak going into Tuesday's matchup with Wells. During this hot streak the Green and Gold have shutout three straight opponents and have outscored the other teams, 15-0. Brockport has three more games to play, which features two SUNYAC matchups.
SUNYAC Standings: So far only one team in the conference has officially clinched a spot in the postseason. Geneseo has secured a SUNYAC Tournament berth, while three more slots remain heading into the final two weeks of the regular season. At 2-2 in the SUNYAC Brockport is still in the race for postseason contention. Here are the full SUNYAC standings going into the week: 1. Geneseo, 2. Cortland, 3. New Paltz, 4. Brockport, 5. Looking at Wells: The Wells College Express are entering Tuesday's match with a record of 1-8 overall this year. They have suffered three straight losses against Medaille, Keuka, and Elmira. #13 Grace Kahl leads Wells with six goals on the year. #25 Eve Kowalczyk is the starting goalie for the Express. In eight starts she has allowed 52 goals and made 91 saves.
Meet the Red Dragons: Oneonta enters the week at 5-7 overall and 2-2 in the conference after back-to-back losses against Cortland and Geneseo. Prior to the pair of defeats, Oneonta had gone on a four-game win streak. The Red Dragons' biggest scoring threat is #24 Carly Waszczak, leading the team with six goals this season. #34 Jennifer Tumino handles the goalkeeping duties, making 76 saves and allowing 19 goals in 2022.
