Buffalo, NY – The SUNY Brockport volleyball team swept Buffalo State on the road Saturday, 3-0, to clinch the No. 2 seed for the upcoming SUNYAC Tournament. Brockport gets the first-round bye with an 8-1 mark in the conference to go with an 18-5 overall record.
The Golden Eagles have now won four in a row on the way to locking up the second seed in the SUNYAC. They go directly to the semifinals, as they await the first-round results to find out the opponent. The first round is set for Tuesday, November 1
st and the semifinals are scheduled for Friday, November 4
th.
Andrea Coyle led the Green and Gold with 12 kills in the match. She also had two aces, 11 digs, and totaled 14.5 points. Freshman
Alexis Sison was close behind with 14.0 points. Sison had 11 kills, three service aces, and seven digs.
Alenna Williamson was a perfect 10-for-10 on attacks, racking up 10 kills and 12 points on a 1.000 hitting percentage.
Jordan Thompson added seven kills and nine digs for the squad.
With 17 assists,
Kerri McHale led all players in the match.
Ashley Allen was also effective during her setter rotations, tallying 14 assists.
Madalyn Bowen got down for 14 digs to lead the squad.
Brockport completed the sweep away from home by set scores of 25-18, 25-22, and 25-18.
The Golden Eagles return home for the final time this season on Tuesday, October 25
th for their Dig Pink Night for Breast Cancer Awareness. They host St. John Fisher for a 7pm start.
