The 2000 Brockport football team, under the guidance of Head Coach Rocco Salomone, set new program standards with its first undefeated regular season (8-0) and first NCAA Tournament berth.  The Golden Eagles were nationally ranked in the top 10 in all four Division III polls and earned the top seed in the east region, a first-round bye, and hosting rights for the NCAA Tournament where they took on visiting Springfield College in second round action.

Future Pittsburgh Steeler and Brockport Athletics Hall of Famer Jay Johnson led the team in tackles.
