Brockport Football Awarded with Trio of CSC Academic All-District Selections

Brockport, NY – On January 6th, College Sports Communicators (CSC) released the 2025-26 Academic All-District Football teams for the NCAA and NAIA. Brockport's Darius Cervi, Tim Lewis, and Zach McGowan all were recognized as CSC Academic All-District.

The 2025-26 Academic All-District® Football teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom.  A select few Academic All-District student-athletes will be named CSC Academic All-American.

Darius Cervi made his mark on the field at linebacker for a highly touted Golden Eagle defense in 2025. On the field he totaled 34 tackles on the season, with 13 solo stops. He added 3.5 tackles for loss, one sack, two forced fumbles, and a pass breakup. As a Sport Management major, the junior has worked for a 3.7 GPA in the classroom to earn CSC Academic All-District. Cervi was also selected as Brockport's representative on the Empire 8's Sportsman of the Year Team.

Tim Lewis is the second Brockport player on the list for CSC Academic All-District honors this year. Particularly as a blocker inside the Golden Eagles' offensive scheme, Lewis provided great value at the tight end position. His work as a blocker helped the offense average 36.27 points per game, 426.4 yards per game, and ranked Top 20 nationally in the run game. Working towards an Accounting degree, Lewis has a 3.88 GPA at Brockport academically.

Rounding out the 2025-26 CSC Academic All-District selections for Brockport is kicker Zach McGowan. He adds to a career-best campaign with the Golden Eagles in 2025, which saw him claim the title of Empire 8 Special Teams Player of the Year. Taking on full kicking responsibilities in 2025, McGowan converted 35-39 extra points and was 7-of-8 on field goal attempts. Beyond his kicking accuracy, he was a massive factor on kickoffs, averaging 62.5 yards per attempt and booming 38 touchbacks, consistently forcing opponents to start deep in their own territory. Academically he has worked for a 3.67 GPA at Brockport, pursuing a degree in Business Administration.

After hosting Geneva (Pa.) in an ECAC Bowl Game, the Golden Eagles closed the 2025 season with a 7–4 overall record and a 4–3 mark in Empire 8 play. Brockport earned a postseason berth for the ninth consecutive season and captured an ECAC Bowl victory for the second straight year, further underscoring the program's sustained success.
