Fredonia, NY – The SUNY Brockport women's soccer team faced Fredonia on the road Wednesday night under the lights. With a final score of 1-1, the two SUNYAC opponents tied to put Brockport at 3-5-3 overall and 2-2-1 in conference play.
The Golden Eagles would get on the board first in the match, as
Franchesca Polcaro scored at the 17:20 mark in the opening half. Polcaro was assisted by teammate
Sophia DeAngelo on the goal.
Fredonia trailed by a goal going into halftime, but would find the equalizer early on in the second half. The Blue Devils scored at 51:42 in the game, tying the game up at 1-1.
The Green and Gold outshot the opponent, 22-4, on the night and placed 12 shots on frame. With neither team scoring for the remainder of the contest, the match resulted in a draw. Both teams snag one points in the SUNYAC standings for the tie.
Kayla Usborne went the distance in net for Brockport, making two saves in 90 minutes of work.
The Golden Eagles are on the road again on Saturday, October 8
th for a meeting with the Oneonta Red Dragons. The match is scheduled for a 1pm start in Oneonta, NY.
