Felice & Jean-Baptiste Post Career-Highs to Hand Oswego its First Loss of the Season

Oswego, NY – Friday night the SUNY Brockport women's basketball team handed Oswego its first loss of the season, 75-60. Brockport improves to 3-2 overall and remains undefeated at 2-0 against SUNYAC opponents.
 
Anna Felice went 11-for-12 at the free throw line on the way to a career-high 27 points. Freshman Stephanie Jean-Baptiste also scored a career-high on the night, finishing with 19 points while shooting 5-for-6 from long range.
 
Zairea Hannah and Juan Brown led the rebounding efforts for the Golden Eagles. They both grabbed 11 rebounds to go with seven points, one block, and one steal. Anna Lee tagged in for a stat line of nine points, four rebounds, and a career-high five steals.
 
After a slow start to the game, the score would be tied at 7-7 with less than three minutes left in the first quarter. Shannon Blankenship nailed a 3-point shot to help keep the game tied at 12-12 heading into the second. The Golden Eagle offense got going in the second quarter. They outscored Oswego, 20-15, in the period to earn a 32-27 lead at halftime.
 
Brockport continued to extend its lead early in the third, as Juan Brown's put back layup gave the team a 10-point lead. Oswego battled back to cut the deficit to just four points, but the Golden Eagles carried a 50-41 lead into the final period.
 
Stephanie Jean-Baptiste erupted in the fourth quarter with 14 of her career-high 19 points. The freshman made four shots from long range in the period, including three in a row on three straight possessions. Brockport would hold its double-digit lead through the finish line, snagging the 15-point victory on the road.
 
The Golden Eagles are back on their home floor Saturday afternoon for another conference matchup. They host Cortland for a 3pm tip-off.
