Brockport, NY – The SUNY Brockport women's basketball team drops to 9-10 overall and 4-9 in the conference after a 62-48 loss at home to Geneseo.
Serena Sordetto was the team's leading scorer in the contest, scoring eight points off the bench.
Erin Nolan tallied seven points and a team-high five rebounds.
Erin Radack contributed across the board with six points, four rebounds, three assists, and four steals.
The game got off to a slow start as neither team was scoring the ball well early on in the first quarter. The game was tied at 6-6 with 3:45 remaining in the opening period. Brockport would enter the second trailing Geneseo by just four points. The offenses started to get things rolling in the second quarter, as the visiting Knights snagged a 30-22 lead going into halftime.
Geneseo would eventually stretch its lead to double-digits as the third quarter carried on, taking a 41-28 lead with just over five minutes left in the third. Brockport would shoot just 28.6% from the field in the quarter, as the team was behind by 14 points heading into the final frame. The Golden Eagles were unable to make up any ground in the fourth, with the Knights grabbing an 18-point edge for their largest lead of the game. They would cruise through the finish line to secure the win on the road.
Hannah Stockman and Megan Roell both tallied 18 points in the game to lead Geneseo. The win pushes the team's record to 12-8 overall and 9-5 in the SUNYAC.
The Golden Eagles begin a four-game set away from home in the next two weeks, beginning with a trip to Potsdam. They hit the road for a 5:30 pm tip-off on Friday, February 11
th.
