The SUNY Brockport men's lacrosse team broke the school-record for goals scored in a single game as the Golden Eagles rolled to a 26-4 victory in non-conference action at Bob Boozer Field on Wednesday afternoon. The Golden Eagles broke the previous record of 21 which was accomplished twice before in 2002 and 2016. Brockport has set a torrid pace this season, scoring 88 goals in their first five contests to jump out to a 4-1 start.
The last time the Golden Eagles went 4-1 to start the season was back in 2016, when they set a program-standard with 12 wins and advanced as far as the SUNYAC Championship game.
Brockport's
Patrick Sheridan led the way once again with five points on four goals and one assist. He leads the team with 19 points this season (14 goals, five assists).
Carson Colucci posted a career-high five points (three goals, two assists), while
Rocco Santillo added three goals and one assist. 20 different players registered at least one point for Brockport and there were 17 different goal scorers.
Nate Askin and
Ethan Stiles each went 13-for-16 on face-off opportunities. Askin posted an incredible 13 ground balls and chipped in with three points on one goal and two assists.
Aidan Fitzgerald caused four turnovers and scooped up seven ground balls for the Golden Eagles.
Owen VanWie posted three points on one goal and two assists. He now has 11 points this season.
Ben Hay registered a career-high two goals and added one assist, while
Ryan Haugh,
Nelson Logan and
Blake Palozzi each added one assist.

John Felice picked up his fourth win of the season as he stopped six shots in 30 minutes of work.
Cameron Kuzniar,
Evan O'Connor and
John Acker combined for five saves in the second to seal the victory for Brockport.
Cam Kremer added two goals, while
Jesse Wooley posted two assists.
Jack Peterson,
Jordan Testa,
Jhovanny Olivares,
Andrew DiPalma,
Michael Marincic,
Garrett Smith and
Mitch Carlson each recorded one goal.
Max Riley and
Ryan McCarthy each had an assist.
Five Golden Eagles registered their first collegiate goal, including Carlson, Marincic, O'Brien, Smith and DiPalma.
Brockport dominated the first half of play, outscoring the visitors 13-2 in the 30-minute stretch. The Golden Eagles did not slow down in the second half, matching their pace with 13 more goals including eight in the fourth quarter alone.
Brockport posted 83 total shots on the afternoon and caused 24 Hilbert turnovers. The Golden Eagles were 21-for-21 on clear attempts and won 27-of-33 face off chances.
The Golden Eagles will hit the road for four straight games beginning with a spring break trip to John Carroll on Saturday in University Heights, Ohio. The contest is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m.
