Geneva, NY – The No. 10 SUNY Brockport women's lacrosse team lost a tough battle against No. 7 William Smith on the road Wednesday, 14-10. Brockport loses its first game of the season, moving to 2-1 overall.
Allison Jennings led the squad with five total points on three goals and two assists.
Cassidy Burnash finished with a team-high four goals, scoring on 3-of-4 free position opportunities.
Alayna Foos had two goals in the contest and went 1-for-1 on the free position.
Logan Hibbard had one goal and one assist offensively. Hibbard contributed all over the field with a team-high five draw controls, team-high two caused turnovers, and a team-high three ground balls.
Courtney Cunningham snagged four draw controls and two ground balls, while
Alexandria VanDerKar had two of each.

Morgan Elmer made 15 saves in the game. She has now come up with double-digit stops in net in all three games so far this season.
Logan Hibbard put Brockport on the board first with a goal in the first 20 seconds of the contest, going up 1-0. William Smith quickly answered with two scores of its own to take a 2-1 lead.
Cassidy Burnash got in on the action with a goal to tie the score up at 2-2 with 9:52 left in the first.
Allison Jennings went off and scored three goals in a row to help secure a 5-4 lead after one.
Burnash would score again early on in the second quarter to make it a 6-4 game. The hosting Herons then went on a tear, scoring four unanswered goals. William Smith held an 8-6 lead with less than three minutes until halftime.
Alayna Foos made it a one score game with 2:20 left in the quarter. On a free position chance in the final seconds, Burnash beat the goalie to send the game into halftime tied at 8-8.
Foos and Burnash were also able to score for the Green and Gold in the second half, but the final two quarters belonged to William Smith. The Herons outscored Brockport, 3-1, in both the third and fourth periods to surge forward to take the 14-10 win.
The Golden Eagles now look towards St. Lawrence University, as they take on the Saints for the home opener. The game is scheduled for a 3 pm start on Friday, March 18
th at Eunice Kennedy Shriver Stadium.
