BROCKPORT, NY – The SUNY Brockport men's lacrosse team will travel to SUNY Oneonta on Saturday for a SUNYAC matchup against the Red Dragons at 12:00 p.m.

Facing off against Alfred University on Tuesday night, the Golden Eagles defeated the Saxons by a score of 9-4 improving to a 6-2 record this season, one of the team's best starts in program history
Patrick Sheridan had two goals and two assists to finish with at least four points for the fourth time this year. The two-time SUNYAC Offensive Player of the Week
Rocco Santillo scored three goals in the contest and he now has 16 goals in the last four games.
Owen VanWie and
Jhovanny Olivares were each credited with one assist in the victory.
Aidan Fitzgerald led the team with eight ground balls and three caused turnovers, while
Ethan Stiles was 11-for-17 on the faceoff.
John Felice made his presence felt from his spot in the net. He made 12 saves during the win, allowing just four goals in the full 60 minutes. He also contributed with six groundballs, and one caused turnover.
NCAA Leaders
The Golden Eagles continue to have the highest clearing percentage amongst all NCAA Division III men's lacrosse teams as they hold a .925 successful clearing percentage clearing 160-of-173 attempts.
SUNYAC Supremacy
Brockport leads the SUNYAC in goals scored where through eight games they've combined for a total of 127 goals and conference-high 72 assists with a goal per game average of 15.88. they lead just about every offensive category across the SUNYAC and rank second in the conference in shots on goal percentage with 62.9%.
The Golden Eagles also lead the SUNYAC with 302 total ground balls and 99 caused turnovers. Brockport is also the best faceoff team in the SUNYAC with a 0.65% success rate at midfield having won 138-of-211 faceoffs. The team also has the lowest goals-against average of 7.50 goals allowed across the SUNYAC.

Rocco Santillo rank 2nd and 3rd in the SUNYAC in points this season. Sheridan ranks second with a total of 28 points on 20 goals and eight assists while Santillo ranks third in the conference with 27 points on 23 goals and four assists.

Ethan Stiles lead the conference in ground balls with Fitzgerald recording the most with a total of 50 ground balls recorded so far this season along with leading the SUNYAC with 24 caused turnovers. Faceoff man

Ground balls with a total of 46 scooped up this season. He is also the SUNYAC's best faceoff man in the conference to date having won 114-of-179 faceoffs for a success rate of 0.64% at faceoffs.
Looking at Oneonta
The Red Dragons have started off the season with a 1-7 record with its only win of the season coming in game two against SUNY Maritime who holds a 2-6 record. Dean Cannon leads Oneonta's offense as the seniors lead the team in all offensive categories with 13 goals and six assists for a total of 19 points. Bryce Caffrey leads the team in grounds balls with a total of 21 this season as defensemen Ryan Nicholson leads the team in caused turnovers with 16. Luke Mignoli leads all the team's goaltenders in minutes played with a time of 347:49 in the crease. He's allowed 55 goals and made 79 saves against 225 total shots with a save percentage of .590% and a goals-against-average of 9.49%. he holds a 1-5 record when in the net.

Following Saturday's game, the Golden Eagles will host SUNY Cortland under the lights on Bob Boozer Field at Eunice Kennedy Shriver Stadium at 6:00 p.m.
