Binghamton, NY – The SUNY Brockport women's tennis team played for the first time since October on Thursday. Brockport begins the spring part of the season with a 6-3 loss to Plattsburgh. The team is now 4-2 overall and 1-2 in conference play.
Caroline Stewart had to battle for the tiebreaker in second singles, but ultimately got the win in three sets. She is now 6-0 on the year and has won nine matches in a row in solo competition.
In the first singles slot,
Eliza Gonzalez got the win in two sets 6-1, 6-1. She handles her matchup on the road, improving to 4-2 in singles play this year.
With an 8-4 win in the first doubles slot,
Eliza Gonzalez and
Caroline Stewart scored the lone doubles point for the Green and Gold. The duo is now 6-0 together in duos competition this year.
The Golden Eagles are back in action again tomorrow for the second day of SUNYAC action this week. They take on Oneonta at 3 pm back down at the Binghamton Tennis Center.
