Brockport Cruises Past Plattsburgh to Clinch Postseason Berth

Plattsburgh, NY – The No. 23 SUNY Brockport women's lacrosse team got off to a hot start against Plattsburgh on the road and marched to a 17-3 win. Improving to 8-5 overall and 5-2 in the conference, Brockport officially clinched a spot in the upcoming SUNYAC Tournament.
 
Claire Odett had another big game with eight total points from four assists and four helpers. Allison Jennings finished with three goals and three assists to total six points. Danielle Hemly registered a career-high six points, also finishing with three goals and assists.
 
Julia Quinlan notched a hat trick with three goals on the day. Logan Hibbard had two goals and secured five draw controls. Courtney Cunningham had a team-high six draw controls to go with five groundballs and one score.
 
Now with a goal in 26 straight games, Cassidy Burnash found the back of the net once in the victory. Taylor Ford led the way with four caused turnovers defensively. Morgan Elmer made three saves and Erin Lant made six, as the two split goalkeeping duties.
 
This game was all Brockport from the very start, as the team rolled past Plattsburgh. Claire Odett lit it up with four goals and two assists to pave the way for an 8-2 quarter for Brockport. The squad kept Plattsburgh from scoring in the second and added four more goals to take a 12-2 lead into halftime.
 
Allison Jennings scored three times in the third quarter, as the Golden Eagles began to run away with this one. They entered the fourth quarter with a 16-2 lead over the Cardinals on the road. Plattsburgh found one score in the final period, but Brockport was able to cruise for what was a 14-goal victory.
 
The Golden Eagles are back at home next week for a SUNYAC battle with Oswego. They are set to battle at 4 pm on Wednesday, April 27th.
