Brockport, NY – The SUNY Brockport women's lacrosse team officially clinched a home playoff game by locking up the No. 3 seed with a win over Oneonta. Brockport defeated the Red Dragons at home, 13-9, on Senior Day.
 
The No. 3 seeded Golden Eagles will host No. 6 seeded New Paltz in the first round of the SUNYAC Tournament. Game is scheduled for 4 pm on Tuesday, May 3
rd at Eunice Kennedy Shriver Stadium.
 
Allison Jennings celebrated Senior Day with six points, scoring five goals with one assist. She also led the squad with five groundballs on the day. 
Claire Odett matched her teammate with six points, tallying four goals and two helpers.
 
Alayna Foos scored three goals and dished out two assists to register five points in the win. 
Cassidy Burnash scored one goal, extending her streak to 28 games in a row with a goal. 
Logan Hibbard came up with a career-high 11 draw controls and was credited with an assist.
 
Morgan Elmer was solid in net, finishing the game with 15 saves and and coming away with four groundballs. 
Courtney Cunningham snagged four groundballs and three draw controls. 
Danielle Hemly contributed with two caused turnovers and three groundballs.
 
After the Senior Day celebration was over the action began, as Oneonta quickly went up 1-0 just 15 seconds in. 
Allison Jennings got going right away with three goals in the opening quarter. She led Brockport to a 4-2 advantage after the first quarter.
 
Once again Oneonta scored in the opening minute as the second quarter going started. The two SUNYAC opponents traded goals back-and-forth all period. 
Alayna Foos and 
Cassidy Burnash both got on the board in the second, as Brockport entered halftime up 7-5.
 
Foos added two more to her tally in the third quarter, helping extend the lead to make it a five-goal game. The visiting Red Dragons continued to battle, but Brockport remained ahead on the scoreboard, 11-8, going into the fourth. Odett and Jennings both scored once in the fourth for some insurance to give the Green and Gold the 13-9 win.
 
Brockport's win secures them the third seed and gives Oneonta the fourth seed going into the SUNYAC Tournament. Oneonta will host Oswego and Brockport will host New Paltz for the opening round. Top-seeded Cortland will host the Semifinal and Final rounds, scheduled for May 6
th and 7
th.
 
The Golden Eagles earned the right to host New Paltz in the first-round next week. They begin the journey to get back to the SUNYAC Finals at 4 pm on Tuesday, May 3
rd.
