Women's Lacrosse Takes on Fredonia at Home

Brockport, NY – The SUNY Brockport women's lacrosse team is at home Tuesday for a SUNYAC matchup against Fredonia. Game is set to begin at 4 pm at Eunice Kennedy Shriver Stadium.
 
Last Outing: The Golden Eagles defeated New Paltz, 12-9, over the weekend to open up conference play. They trailed the Hawks on the road, 9-6, heading into the fourth quarter before scoring six unanswered goals to secure the comeback victory. The team improved to 4-3 overall and 1-0 in the SUNYAC.
 
Joining the 100 Club: With two scores in the team's win over New Paltz, Allison Jennings recorded the 100th goal of her collegiate career. The senior joins the 100-Club, making her just the 14th player in program-history to score 100 goals for the Green and Gold.
 
Wagner Wants 200: Head Coach Stephen Wagner is just one game away from reaching 200 wins for his career. Brockport's recent win over New Paltz was the 199th victory for Wagner's career. Already the winningest coach in program-history, Wagner looks to surpass another significant milestone this week.
 
Leading Scorers: Brockport has four players with 20 or more points so far this year. Alayna Foos and Logan Hibbard are tied for the team's lead with 23 points. Foos has a team-high 18 goals and five assits, while Hibbard has tallied 14 goals and a team-high nine assists. Claire Odett is not far behind with 22 points on 17 goals and five helpers. Allison Jennings has totaled 15 goals and five assists to earn 20 points.
 
What a Streak: Cassidy Burnash has put together an incredible streak of games in which she has recorded at least one goal. Dating back to March 19th, 2021, Burnash has scored a goal in 20 consecutive games for the Golden Eagles. She scored at least once in every game since the season opener of the 2021 calendar. The junior is currently fifth on the team with 19 total points from 17 goals and two assists.
 
Elmer's Net: Morgan Elmer is currently leading the conference in both saves percentage and total saves. She owns a 56.9% save percentage and is the only goalie in the SUNYAC with a mark above 50%. With 103 saves she is also the only goalie in the league with 100 stops in net so far this year. Elmer has come up with double-digit saves in six of the seven games played this season, including her career-high 22 saves against Nazareth.
 
Scouting Fredonia: The Fredonia Blue Devils enter the upcoming game with a 0-7 mark overall and are 0-2 in the conference. #23 Sydney Buchko leads the team with eight total points on seven goals and one assist. #4 Tessa Brady and #12 Molly McGowan have both scored seven goals as well this season. #0 Emily Carr has come up with 81 saves in net as the starting goalie. Brockport is 8-2 against Fredonia in the last 10 matchups and defeated the SUNYAC foe, 20-1, last season.
 
Under the Lights: Following Tuesday's contest, the Golden Eagles begin preparations for a big SUNYAC matchup against Cortland Saturday night. The contest will be played under the lights at Eunice Kennedy Shriver Stadium, starting at 7 pm.
