The SUNY Brockport men's lacrosse team will travel to SUNY Geneseo on Wednesday, May 4th to square off against the Knights in the semifinals of the 2022 SUNYAC Tournament. The game is scheduled to start at 4:00 pm.
How We Got Here: The Golden Eagles secured the No. 3 seed in the tournament following a big win against the Oswego State Lakers on Friday night. Senior
Rocco Santillo scored the game-winner with 34 seconds left in the game for a thrilling 13-12 victory. Brockport has now won ten games for the second time in program history, and they have set a new program record for goals scored in a single season (187).
Patrick Sheridan had a massive day as he netted a career-high five goals for the Golden Eagles. He also eclipsed 90 career points and will head into the playoffs with 92 career points on 69 goals and 23 assists. He is one of just nine players in program history with 90+ career points. John Felice stopped seven shots and he has now set a new program record for goalie wins in a single season with 10. He now has 20 total wins for his career. Face-off man
Ethan Stiles was impressive once again, winning 17-of-28 face-offs and posting four ground balls.
In the National Spotlight: Brockport ranks sixth nationally in man-down defense (.845) and 14
th nationally in both clearing percentage (.880) and face-off winning percentage (.667). Brockport's scoring defense ranks in the top 20 nationally (7.86).

Stats Don't Lie: The Golden Eagles lead the SUNYAC conference in 12 out of 22 main statistic categories. These categories include assists per game (7.21), caused turnovers per game (10.93), clearing percentage (0.880), face-off winning percentage (.667), ground balls per game (34.36), man-down defense (0.845), man-up offense (0.387), points per game (20.57), scoring defense (7.86), scoring margin (5.50), scoring offense (13.36) and winning percentage (0.714).
Individually, Santillo and Sheridan share second place with six man-up goals in the conference with Santillo recording the fourth-most points in the SUNYAC with 43 and third most goals with 34. Sheridan ranks sixth in the conference with 31 total points.
Aidan Fitzgerald, who has appeared in 13 games this season, ranks first in the conference with 36 caused turnovers and third with 58 total ground balls.
Ethan Stiles leads the conference with a total of 87 ground balls and has won the most face offs of any SUNYAC player (204).
Between The Pipes: John Felice is tied with Cortland's Travis Wagner for the highest winning percentage in the conference with a 71.4% win rate as both goalkeepers are 10-4. Felice also has the lowest goals-against average in the conference with 8.47 and has only allowed 101 goals, the fewest of any starter over 10 games.
Last Time They Met: The last time the Golden Eagles faced the Knights was last Tuesday where Geneseo defeated Brockport 14-6.
Conference Tournament History: Brockport is making its sixth conference tournament appearance dating back to 2011. Their last appearance in the conference tournament championship game came back in 2016. That same year, the team achieved its best record under Head Coach
Ben Wineburg. The 2016 team registered a program-best 12 wins and was comprised of three first-team and three second-team all-conference selections. Wineburg was selected as the Paul Rose Coach of the Year following Brockport's historic 2016 season.
