BROCKPORT, NY – The Golden Eagles field hockey team lost their first game of the season against Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) on Saturday afternoon by a score of 4-1 at the Dr. Linda Arena and Class of '69 Field Hockey Venue.
Taylor Weber scored the Golden Eagles' only goal of the game in the second quarter for the Golden Eagles off an assist from
Katelynn Mello.
Ella Buchanan spent the whole game in the cage having a career night by making eight saves while facing another career-high 12 shots against the Engineers.
Bailey led the team in shots by getting off three while two were targeted on goal.
Emmalee Moore and
Katelynn Mello each had two shots with Moore having one on goal while
Alyssa Fuccillo also managed to get one shot off in the game.
Brockport will next look to get in the win column this upcoming week when they host Utica University on Wednesday, September 14
th at the Dr. Linda Arena and Class of '69 Field Hockey Venue at 4:00 pm.
