BROCKPORT, NY – The SUNY Brockport field hockey team earned itself a bounce-back victory against Utica University, defeating the Pioneers 6-2 on Wednesday, September 14
th.
The Offense: The Golden Eagles' offense came back alive with the help of six goals scored by five different student-athletes.
Bailey Lazore led the charge with two goals in the game while
Alyssa Fuccillo,
Katelynn Mello,
Emmalee Moore, and
Gianna Salerno all scored a goal of their own.
Olivia Hayden recorded two saves against the Pioneers while
Paige Thowe recorded one assist for the Green and Gold.
Big Bounce Back: As a team, Brockport outplayed Utica by taking 16 total shots with all of them being on goal. Utica however, had seven shots with five on goal. With the higher shot total, Utica recorded 10 saves while Brockport made three saves in the game, all coming in the second quarter. Brockport received nine more penalty corners earning 13 throughout the evenings game compared to Utica's four penalty corners.
Shooters: Emmalee Moore's five shots were a team high as she was five for five on shots on goal.
Gianna Salerno earned herself a few opportunities as well going four for four on shots on goal.
Fire Her Up! In the Cage,
Ella Buchanan made three saves against the Pioneers having spent the full 60:00-minutes in goal.
