BROCKPORT, NY – The SUNY Brockport volleyball team competed in day two of the Brockport Invitational which saw them defeat the University of Rochester (U of R) 3-1 before falling to Hamilton College 3-0.
Career Assist 2,000!: Needing five set assists to reach the 2,000 career mark going into day two of the invitational,
Kerri McHale managed to reach that mark on the first point of the second set against the University of Rochester. McHale finished the day with 51 set assists, 20 digs, one service ace, and one kill. McHale now has the 8
th most assists in program history with 2,046. She is just 72 assists shy of tying the seventh most assists in program history of 2,119.
Offensive Leaders: Andrea Coyle finished the day with a combined 28.5 points with a total of 22 kills, six service aces, and one block assist.
Jordan Thompson had the second most points on the team today finishing with 27.0. She had 25 kills, 22 digs, two block assists, two set assists, and one service ace.
Top Defenders: Brooklyn Sullivan brought her season digs total up to 74 as she recorded 23 against U of R and 16 against Hamilton for a total of 39 today.
Myah Frostclapp tallied one solo block and five block assists leading the team in total blocks. She also earned 13.5 points from nine kills, 3.5 blocks, and a service ace.
Against U of R: Brockport managed to win the first set 25-17 against the Yellowjackets before falling to the U of R 25-23 in a narrow second set. From there, Brockport won the third and fourth sets to earn the 3-1 victory. As a team, Brockport tallied 60.0 points, 44 kills, nine aces, seven blocks, and 41 assists with 81 digs.
Against Hamilton: Brockport fell to Hamilton in their final match of the Brockport Invitational by a score of 3-0. Brockport recorded 42.5 points, 35 kills, four aces, three blocks, 34 assists, and 50 digs. Freshman
Alexis Sison had a big game against the Continentals recording 10 kills in 23 attempts for a .348 hitting percentage.
