HOUGHTON, NY – The SUNY Brockport field hockey team lost in overtime to the Houghton Highlanders on Tuesday night by a score of 3-2.
Scoring Recap: Emmalee Moore scored both goals in the match for Brockport giving her four total goals this season. Moore's first goal came unassisted in the third quarter to tie it up 1-1. With Brockport trailing 2-1 with just under four minutes remaining in the contest, Moore scored again off an assist from
Quinn Guy to send the game into overtime to which Houghton would score the game-winning goal 3:34 into the overtime period.
Team Stats: The Golden Eagles outshot Houghton 20-6 while recording 14 shots on goal compared to the Highlanders' six shots on goal. The Golden Eagles also received four times as many penalty corners tallying 13 to Houghton's three. Houghton also fouled Brockport more times in the game as the Highlanders had 49 total fouls to the Green and Gold's 32 fouls.
Shot Total: Moore was a shot machine in the contest as she managed to get off seven shots, five being on goal. Behind her in the shots category was
Alyssa Fuccillo who tallied four shots, three being on goal.
Quinn Guy also had multiple shots apart from her assist as she recorded three shots.
Goalie Stats: Ella Buchanan spent all 63:34 in the cage for the Green and Gold making just one save in the contest while
Mary Young and Jillian Owen each recorded one defensive save each.
What's Next: Brockport will next turn to face 2021 SUNYAC Champions New Paltz on the road Saturday evening at 1:00 pm in a conference matchup.
