Brockport, NY- The SUNY Brockport women's soccer team was home on Wednesday against the University of Rochester (U of R) on the Dr. Linda Arena Field. The women fell to the visiting Yellow Jackets 7-1.
Maryalice Skutnik is first to put points on the board this year for Brockport, scoring the team's first goal of the season.
Kaleigh Pettit was credited with the assist, as she made the first start of her collegiate career.
In addition to Pettit,
Madeline McCrosson made her collegiate debut in the net. McCrosson had three saves in the first half.
Kayla Usborne was brought out at the half and saved four shots during her 45 minute shift in net.
After the first 45 minutes on the pitch the Yellow Jackets were ahead 3-0. Late in the second they led the Golden Eagles 7-0 before
Maryalice Skutnik found the back of the net with 12:01 left in the game.
Brockport travels to play Houghton College, Saturday, September 10
th at 1pm in the Kerr-Pegula Athletic Complex, located in Houghton, NY.
