Brockport, NY – The SUNY Brockport men's basketball team will be at home this weekend Brockport will take on New Paltz at 7:30pm on Friday and Oneonta at 4pm on Saturday.
Revenge Game: The Golden Eagles handed Cortland its first conference loss of the season on Tuesday. They dominated in the second half on the way to the 86-62 win on the road.
Brockport outscored the Red Dragons 44-23 in the second half, on the way to a fourth straight win. The squad is now 11-3 overall and 6-1 in the SUNYAC. Cortland is now 12-3 overall and 7-1 in the SUNYAC.
Mekhi Beckett led the way with a game-high 27 points and a team-high eight rebounds. He shot 11-for-17 in the game including 5-for-8 from beyond the arc.
Monte Johnson came in off the bench to register 15 points, four rebounds, and two steals. He didn't miss a shot all game going 6-for-6 from the floor, 1-for-1 from deep, and 2-for-2 at the foul line.
Jahidi Wallace scored an efficient 16 points as well for the Green and Gold. He was 6-for-10 on field goals and went 4-for-5 at the charity stripe.
SUNYAC Standings: There are now five teams in the SUNYAC heading into the weekend with just one loss in conference play. Brockport is in third place right now with a 6-1 mark in the SUNYAC. New Paltz Matchup: Losers of three in a row, the Hawks are 7-5 overall and 5-1 against SUNYAC opponents. Their last win came back on December 10
th against Buffalo State, 75-65. New Paltz leading scorer, #2 Rylan Blondo, is putting up 17.6 points a night.
Scouting Oneonta: Oneonta is entering the weekend with a 9-4 record overall and a 5-1 mark in conference play. The Red Dragons defeated New Paltz, 84-59, in their last game after a pair of losses. #24 Joseph Bull is averaging 16.5 points and 11.5 rebounds a game to lead the team.
