Brockport, NY - The Brockport Field hockey team will return home for non-conference action against Elmira College on Wednesday, October 11
th at 7 p.m. before taking on Oswego at home on Saturday, October 14
th at 11 a.m.

Last Time Out: The Golden Eagles split their two games last week, falling at home to St. Johns Fishers 3-1 before picking their first SUNYAC win of the season against Oneonta on the road 3-1. The Green and Gold would control the majority of the contest in defeat, doubling the Cardinals' shots on goal (18 to 9), and shot attempts (26 to 13).
Emmalee Moore would tie her career high in shots on net (9), in addition to securing the lone goal for the Golden Eagles.

The ladies would rebound on Saturday with a crucial 3-1 SUNYAC win over Oneonta. The Golden Eagles' offense got going early withÂ

Quinn Guy would find the back of the net in the second to increase the Brockport advantage to 2-0 in the second. Ella Buchannan and the Golden Eagles' defense would lead the way for the remainder of the contest, Buchannan would finish with 4 saves and just 1 goal allowed in 90 minutes of game action. The Golden Eagles controlled nearly all aspects of the contest, outshooting the Red Dragons 15 to 9 (12 to 5 SOG), committing 4 fewer fouls (14 to 10), and creating more penalty corner chances (7 to 6). Brockport moved to 8-4 overall and 1-2 in SUNYAC play.

SUNYAC AOTW: Emmalee Moore and
Abby Chalmers earned SUNYAC offensive and defensive players of the week for their performances against Oneonta and St. John Fishers.

Leading Scorers: Through 12 games, the Golden Eagles' offense boasts 4 players that average a point or better.
Quinn Guy remains the leading goal scorer and point scorer for Brockport, scoring 11 goals and posting 25 points in 12 games, good for an average of over 2 points per contest.
Emmalee Moore leads the Green and Gold in assists (7), in addition to adding 7 goals for 21 points in 12 games.
Bailey Lazore has chipped in for 6 goals and 3 assists, good for 15 total points in 11 games and 10 starts.
Tiffany Andres rounds out the group, scoring 5 goals with an assist to post 11 points in 11 games.
Defensive Standouts: 3 Golden Eagles have contributed a defensive save or better thus far, with
Mary Young leading the pack with 4 defensive saves on the year, good for 3
rd best in SUNYAC.
Kelsey Zehr picked up a defensive save to go with two goals and three assists.
Jillian Owens has been the face of the Brockport defensive line, playing over 510 minutes across 11 games and picking up a defensive save in the process.

Shall Not Pass: The Golden Eagles have had the benefit of two strong options between the pipes.
Katelynn Banning has been dominant in limited appearances, going 2-0 in two starts, and holding a strong 1.03 goals allowed average.
Ella Buchanan has been at the forefront of the Golden Eagles' success thus far, posting a solid 6-4 record with 55 saves to just 15 goals allowed, saving over 78% of the shots she's faced. Â Â

Scouting Elmira: Elmira has gotten off to a pedestrian 1-5 start through 6 games, with their lone winning coming by forfeit against Wells College back in September. The Soaring Eagles are in the midst of a 4 game losing streak and are still searching for their first goal of the year. Brockport has been dominant in the battle of the Eagles, winning the last 3 head-to-head matchups and not allowing an Elmira goal since their 2018 matchup.

Scouting Oswego: The Lakers have started 4-9 through their first 13 matchups, with a 0-1 mark in SUNYAC play. Oswego will face off with Nazareth before heading to Brockport on Saturday, looking to avenge a 2-0 loss at home to Geneseo last Saturday. The head-to-head series has been very competitive, with Brockport stealing a 1-0 win in Oswego in last year's matchup.
