Women's Soccer Clinches Postseason Berth & Ties Single Season Shutout Record

Geneseo, NY – The Golden Eagle women's soccer team officially clinched a postseason berth on Wednesday, after battling Geneseo to a 0-0 draw on the road. Snagging a point in the SUNYAC Standings, Brockport is now third in the conference at 11-2-4 overall and 3-1-4 in league play.

With a spot in the postseason wrapped up, Head Coach Mike Idland has Golden Eagles back in the conference tournament for a fourth consecutive season.

Brockport now has 13 shutouts on the season, tying the program record for shutouts in a single season set back in 1995. Playing the full 90 minutes in net for the Green and Gold, Madeline McCrosson made five saves to preserve her ninth solo clean sheet of the year.

The hosting Geneseo Knights controlled the ball for most of the game, despite neither team finding the back of the net. They outshot Brockport, 16-2, in the match including a 5-0 advantage in shots on goal.

Karlie Mann and Kiley Longin registered the only two shots for the Golden Eagles in the contest. The squad had two corner kicks, while Geneseo finished with 10 corner opportunities.

Brockport, now with 13 points in the conference standings, is currently third in the SUNYAC with a 3-1-4 mark. Seeding for the SUNYAC Tournament will be finalized after Saturday's full slate of games around the conference.

The Golden Eagles will be at home on Saturday, October 21st for the regular season finale against Potsdam. They will be celebrating Senior Day on the home turf, with the match beginning at 1pm.
