Geneseo, NY - The Brockport Field Hockey team dropped Wednesday's regular season finale at Geneseo, 1-0. The Golden Eagles will finish the regular season 11-6 with a 3-3 record in SUNYAC play, clinching the No. 4 seed in the SUNYAC playoffs.
The Geneseo defense kept the Brockport offense quiet for the entirety of the contest, holding the Golden Eagles without a shot on goal.
Ella Buchanan kept the Green and Gold within striking distance throughout, making six first-half saves to keep Brockport tied 0-0 entering halftime. Buchanan would finish with 11 saves and just one goal allowed.
The Knights continued the pressure in the 3
rd, forcing Buchanan to make three stops early in the period, along with a defensive save from 
Mary Young on Shannon Cunningham to keep the score tied.
Geneseo would eventually break through, courtesy of Hanna Pochobradsky's penalty shot goal to move the Knights ahead 1-0.
Pochobradsky's goal would serve as the game-winner, with Geneseo goalie Sarah Quinlan picking up the shutout victory.
Up Next: The Golden Eagles will look ahead to the SUNYAC tournament semifinals, where they will face off with Cortland on the road on Wednesday, November 1st.
