Oswego, NY – The SUNY Brockport volleyball team extended its win streak to five in a row with Friday night's, 3-0, sweep over Oswego State. Brockport improves to 14-10 overall and is now 6-2 in the SUNYAC.
All three sets were heavily contested, as all three were decided by three or less points. The Golden Eagles were able to outlast the Lakers in each set to secure the sweep with scores of 25-22, 29-27, and 26-24.
Emma Schumaker had kills for three of Brockport's final four points in the first, with
Kaitlyn Jewett closing out the set with an ace.
Jordan Thompson had a kill and an ace to finish out the second set. A combination of
Alenna Williamson's kill and
Brooklyn Sullivan's ace in the third ended the night.
Thompson posted a team-high 16 kills to go with eight digs.
Alexis Sison earned a .556 hitting percentage with 11 kills and three block assists.
Megan Loomis recorded eight kills in two sets of work.
Jewett's work as the setter resulted in 32 assists on the night for the freshman. She also matched
Gianna Felipe with seven digs defensively.
Elsie Logan was credited with a team-high 15 digs for the Green and Gold.
As a team the Golden Eagles finished with a .364 hitting percentage for the match, totaling 47 kills on 99 total attempts. They had the advantage on the stat sheet in digs as well, 45-36.
Brockport heads to Cortland on Saturday for a 1pm start, for the final SUNYAC matchup of the regular season.
