Cortland, NY – The SUNY Brockport volleyball team lost to Cortland on the road, 3-0, to conclude SUNYAC play at 6-3 with a 14-11 mark overall. The Golden Eagles have officially locked up the No. 4 seed for the conference tournament.
The hosting Red Dragons pulled out a narrow, 25-21, win in the first set to earn the edge early on. They capitalized on the momentum with a 25-16 win in the second, followed by a 25-17 score in the third to complete the sweep.
Both
Alexis Sison and
Jordan Thompson finished with team-highs of 10 kills offensively. Sison added three block assists, while Thompson had seven digs and two aces.
Kaitlyn Jewett totaled 23 assists in the match as the starting setter.
Elsie Logan notched a team-high 15 digs defensively.
Alenna Williamson totaled three blocks (1 solo, 2 assists).
The Golden Eagles are officially set at the No. 4 seed for the postseason, earning a chance to host for the first round of the SUNYAC Tournament. They will welcome the No. 5 seed from Buffalo State at 6pm on November 7
th.
Up next, Brockport will travel to face the University of Rochester on Wednesday, November 1
st for a non-conference battle. The match is scheduled to begin at 7pm.
