Brockport, NY – The SUNY Brockport volleyball team is on the road this weekend for the conclusion of conference play. The team heads to Oswego for a 6pm match on Friday night and then goes to Cortland for a 1pm start on Saturday.
SUNYACs Clinched: With a 5-2 mark in SUNYAC play heading into the weekend, the Golden Eagles have already locked up a spot in the postseason. In his first year with the program, Head Coach
Jim Clar gets Brockport back to the conference tournament for the ninth year in a row. This weekend's set will determine the final seeding for the SUNYAC Tournament, scheduled to begin on November 7
th.
North Country Challenge: This past weekend the Green and Gold traveled to compete in a trio of non-conference matches. The team went 3-0 on the weekend trip up north. Brockport defeated St. Lawrence (3-0), Clarkson (3-2), and Skidmore (3-1).
Last Time Out: Earlier this week Brockport hosted Nazareth for the last home match of the regular season. Completing a 3-0 sweep of the Golden Flyers, Brockport picked up its fourth win in a row. The victory improved the team's record to 13-10 overall and 6-0 at home on the season.
Conference Standings: Heading into the final pair of SUNYAC matches, the Green and Gold sit at fourth in the conference. After this weekend more details on the official seeding for the upcoming conference tournament will be decided. Here is the full listing for the current SUNYAC standings:

Top Gun: Brockport's
Jordan Thompson continues to lead the SUNYAC in multiple offensive categories. She ranks first in total points (364.5), points per set (4.5), kills (307), kills per set (3.79), and is tied for first in the conference in aces (41). She has also been strong defensively for the squad with 215 digs and a total of 31 blocks.
Jewett's Big Week: In the four matches played last week,
Kaitlyn Jewett totaled 177 assists as the starting setter. Jewett set a new career-high against Clarkson with 58 in the match. The freshman now ranks second in the SUNYAC with 587 assists and 8.15 assists per set. On the serve she is one of three Golden Eagles that are top 10 in the conference in aces (T-7
th, 34).
All Over the Court: Elsie Logan and
Brooklyn Sullivan lead the Green and Gold in digs for the season. Logan has 308 which is fourth best in the conference, while Sullivan's 227 is tied for 11
th in the conference. Both also have at least 30 service aces this season. With 35, Logan is tied for fifth in the SUNYAC. Sullivan has 30 which ranks 11
th.
Taking on Oswego: The Oswego State Lakers enter Friday night's match 6-13 overall and 3-4 in conference play with just a 1-6 mark at home. They went 1-1 last weekend against SUNYAC opponents, picking up a 3-2 win over Fredonia. The Golden Eagles have won three in a row against Oswego and nine of the last 10 meetings.
Scouting Cortland: Currently at the top of the SUNYAC, the Cortland Red Dragons are 18-3 overall and 7-0 in conference play ahead of the weekend. Looking for their seventh win in a row, they host Geneseo on Friday before the Saturday matchup with Brockport. Last season these two teams went to five sets both in the regular season and in the SUNYAC Championship. Cortland pulled out the 3-2 win on both occasions and has won the head-to-head three times in a row.
Looking Ahead: The Golden Eagles will be on the road again next Wednesday, November 1
st. They will head to the nearby University of Rochester for a 7pm match.
