Brockport, NY - The SUNY Brockport women's volleyball team earned the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Team Academic Award for the 2025-26 season, the organization announced on Thursday, July 23rd. Brockport was one of 1,432 collegiate and high school volleyball programs from across the country to earn the honor after maintaining a year-long grade-point average of at least 3.3 on a 4.0 scale (or 4.1 on a 5.0 scale).

"It comes as no surprise to see our sport have more than 1,400 teams earn the AVCA Team Academic Award again this season," said AVCA CEO Jaime Gordon. "We are grateful for the dedication of the coaches and players who make both classroom and on-court success the lifeblood of their programs."

The Golden Eagles finished last season 17-9 overall, earning the Empire 8's No. 3 seed for the postseason with a 9-2 mark in conference play under 3rd year Head Coach Jim Clar. Brockport fell in the E8 Semifinals in 2025, as the program completed its second season with the Empire 8 Conference.
