Binghamton, NY – On Thursday, the Golden Eagle women's tennis team faced off against Plattsburgh at the Binghamton Tennis Center. They lost to the Cardinals, 7-2, to start the busy weekend.
Brockport's top duo of
Eliza Gonzalez and
Olivia Raschiatore took the victory, 8-3, over Plattsburgh's Samantha Svanter and Nicole Svanter. This would be one of just two points scored for the Green and Gold on the day.
Samantha Aubin and
Shannon Aubin suffered a hard-fought loss in second doubles. They fell to Ava Carey and Jacklin Mitchell, 8-7, by dropping the tiebreaker 8-6. The third doubles team of
Olivia Chiu and
Sophie Langdon lost a close, 8-6, battle to Jackie Svanter and Hallie Hurwitz.
It was
Eliza Gonzalez who snatched the lone point from singles play for the Golden Eagles. She defeated Samantha Svanter 7-6 (12-10), 6-3 in the first singles slot.
Brockport will look to bounce back on Friday against Oneonta for more conference play. The match is scheduled to start at 6pm back at the Binghamton Tennis Center.
