Brockport, NY – The SUNY Brockport men's basketball team had its five-game win streak come to an end on Saturday, falling to New Paltz 67-55. Brockport is now 5-2 overall and 1-1 in conference play.
Caquan Wester finished with 13 points, nine rebounds, two blocks, and a steal.
Tony Arnold also had 13 points to go with six boards and three steals defensively.
Alex Tavarez had his best outing of the season, scoring 10 points and swiping five steals on the day. As a team, the Golden Eagles shot 100% at the free throw line going 8-for-8.
However, the day belonged to the New Paltz Hawks who received double figures in the scoring column from four players. Ryan Blondo posted a double-double to lead the way with 17 points and 11 boards.
Solomon Neuhaus scored an efficient 14 points in just 11 minutes off the bench, shooting 6-for-8 in the game. Tyreik Frazier and AJ Knight both totaled 11 points, while Sean St. Lucia contributed with seven assists and nine rebounds.
After a tough first half shooting the ball, Brockport would trail nearly the entire contest. The visiting Hawks led by as many as 15 points in the first half, taking a 31-20 lead with them into halftime.
Still down by double-digits in the second half, the Golden Eagles went small looking to create turnovers with some extra ball pressure. They go on a quick run late in the game, cutting the New Paltz lead to just six points with 1:29 to play.
The Hawks were able to hold off Brockport's comeback attempt down the stretch, pulling out the 12-point victory.

th for a non-conference matchup with Morrisville State at 6pm.
