Allentown, PA – On Sunday the SUNY Brockport wrestling team competed at the National Guard Mideast Futures Tournament, hosted by Muhlenberg.
Isaiah Jackson received a first-round bye in the 125-bracket. His day ended in the second round by a 9-3 decision loss.
With a win by fall at 3:11,
Jaden Friel got a win in his first bout of the tournament. Friel was halted by a pin in his next matchup in the 141-weight class.
Matthew Cestare,
Mahmoud Esa, and
Elvis Vasquez all suited up for Brockport in the 149-division.
At 184,
Karam Ali had a strong run after getting a bye in the first round. He got wins by fall in 3:45 and decision, 5-2, in the next two matchups. He was stopped in the semifinals of the division by a 5-1 decision.
The Golden Eagles now prepare for the NCAA Mideast Regional Championships next weekend on February 24th and 25th, hosted by Ithaca College.
