Brockport, NY- The SUNY Brockport women's lacrosse team will kick off the 2023 season with a road matchup on Sunday, February, 26
th at 12 pm against #10 Ithaca College.
2022 Recap: Despite a pedestrian 5-5 start to the season, the Golden Eagles went on to win six of their last seven to finish 11-6 overall and 7-2 in the SUNYAC. Brockport earned the third seed for the SUNYAC Tournament and defeated the sixth seeded New Paltz, 13-7, in the first round. The season came to an end with a loss in the semifinals against the second seeded Knights from Geneseo, 12-8. The Golden Eagles were third in the SUNYAC in goals scored and produced five different players with 30+ goals.
Preseason Polls: Brockport is slotted at third in the 2023 SUNYAC preseason polls, trailing Cortland and Geneseo. Brockport was first in the SUNYAC preseason polls in 2022.
All SUNYAC Stars: Eight Golden Eagles received All-SUNYAC honors last year including three earning first-team, two second-team, and three receiving third-team selections. Attacker

Erin Lant looks in line to start in net for the Green and Gold. Lant posted solid numbers in limited action, saving 60% of opposing shots and holding a 3.18 GAA in over 113 minutes of action.

Schedule Layout: Following the opener at nationally-ranked Ithaca, the Golden Eagles will play three straight home games beginning on Wednesday, March 1
st at 4 pm against RIT. Brockport will match up with William Smith College on February 8
th at 4 pm and Kenyon College on February 10
th at 3 pm to finish the homestand. Brockport will travel to Rochester on March 15
th to face U of R before opening conference play at home against SUNY Cortland on March 25
th at 12 pm. The Golden Eagles will wrap up conference play with Senior Day and Alumni Day games, beginning with a matchup versus New Paltz on April 22
nd at 3 pm, and closing out SUNYAC play with a matchup with Buffalo State on April 26
th at 4 pm. The 2023 SUNYAC Conference Tournament is set to begin on Saturday, April 29
th, with the time and location still to be determined.
Scouting Ithaca: Ithaca opens the year ranked #10 in NCAA Division III women's lacrosse. The Bombers are coming off an impressive 17-4 season and which led to a run into the NCAA DIII Tournament. With the exception of last year's canceled game, Brockport has opened the season against Ithaca every year dating back to the 2018 season. Ithaca has won the last 5 meetings, dating back to the 2011 season.
