Men's Lacrosse Travels for Pair of Non-Conference Games

Brockport, NY - The SUNY Brockport men's lacrosse team is on the road for a pair of non-conference contests this week. The team begins with a matchup against Clarkson University on Wednesday, March 1st at 3 pm. The Golden Eagles will then travel to Ohio to play Wooster College on Saturday, March 4th at 1 pm.

Last Time Out: The Green and Gold dropped its season opener at Alfred University, 11-7, last Saturday. Jackson Worden made an impact, notching his first goal and hat trick for the Golden Eagles while also leading the team with five ground balls. In a highly competitive contest, Brockport entered the fourth trailing by just one goal. Worden's hat-trick goal brought the game to a 7-7 tie with 6:23 remaining. The Saxon's would respond by scoring the final four goals in the contest, securing the win in their home opener.

Kuzniar's Net: Goalie Cameron Kuzniar started his senior campaign with the second start of his collegiate career against Alfred. Playing the full 60 minutes in net, he recorded a career-high 17 saves in the contest.

Scouting Clarkson: Clarkson will open the season against Brockport following the postponement of their opener against SUNY Canton. Clarkson is coming off an 11-5 season in its 2022 campaign with a 2-5 record in an extremely competitive Liberty League conference, starting 8-0 before finishing 3-5 in their last 8 games. Clarkson has been dominant in the head-to-head series, winning 7 of the last 8 against Brockport dating back to the 2011 season.

Scouting Wooster: The Fighting Scots opened the year 2-0 with wins over Westminster (PA) and Otterbein. Wooster will host Capital college in their home opener on March 1st before hosting Brockport on the 4th. Wooster is coming off a 2022 campaign where they posted a 6-10 record overall with a 4-5 record in conference play.

Seeking Win #1: The Golden Eagles will enter the week of play seeking win number one for first-year Head Coach Colin Cornaire. Cornaire was hired prior to the 2023 season after his exceptional work as an assistant SUNY Geneseo, helping the program make three SUNYAC Championship game appearances.

Next Up: Following the road trip, the Golden Eagles will prepare for their home opener against Westminster College (PA) on Saturday, March 11th at 3 pm.
