Brockport, NY – The SUNY Brockport men's lacrosse team will play a pair of road games this week. The Golden Eagles play Utica at 3pm on Wednesday before taking on St. Mary's at 12pm on Saturday in Maryland.
Last Time Out: Brockport defeated Westminster in the home opener last weekend, 14-10. The team gets its first win of the year, improving to 1-3 overall.
Nate Askin posted career-highs in both goals and total points. He led the offense with four goals, one assist, five points, and even scooped up three ground balls. Both
Ethan Barrett and
Jhovanny Olivares recorded four points from three assists and one goal.
Jack Peterson and
Ryan McCarthy matched one another with three goals, as they both finished with a hat trick.
Ben Hay and
Mike O'Brien each scored once, while
Jackson Worden dished out one assist.
Goalie
Cameron Kuzniar picks up his first win as the starter in net this season. He made 15 saves in 59:43 minutes of action for the Green and Gold.
Utica So Far: The Utica University Pioneers are heading into the matchup with a record of 3-3 overall. They won their last two games with a, 10-5, victory over Castleton and a win over SUNY Canton, 14-8. Utica is 2-1 at home so far this year.
Scouting St. Mary's: The Seahawks from St. Mary's College in Maryland are holding onto a solid 5-2 record so far this season. They have scored 20 or more goals in four of the five wins, but most recently fell to Elizabethtown, 13-12. St. Mary's takes on No. 18 Denison on Tuesday ahead of the weekend matchup with Brockport.
