Brockport, NY - The Brockport women's lacrosse team will host its SUNYAC opener against SUNY Cortland on Saturday, March 25
th at 12 pm.

SUNYAC Opener: This matchup will serve as the SUNYAC opener for both Cortland and Brockport. Last season, Brockport qualified for the SUNYAC tournament with a solid 7-2 record in SUNYAC play. The squad was the third seed last year for the conference tournament, and was picked to finish third again in this year's preseason poll.

Last Time Out: The Golden Eagles fell on the road to the University of Rochester 17-12 last Thursday. After trailing 10-4 at the break, Brockport responded by scoring 5 of the next 6 goals bringing the game to 11-9 in favor of Rochester. Rochester would go on to score 4 straight goals, including 6 of the last 9 to end the rally for the Green and Gold. Senior Cassidy Burdick and sophomore
Alayna Foos both recorded hat tricks for the Golden Eagles. Brockport fell to 1-3 on the young season.

Leading the Charge: Attacker
Cassidy Burnash has been the catalyst of the Golden Eagles' offense to begin the season. Coming off 35-goal seasons in both 2021 and 2022, Burnash has started the season on a tear, scoring 13 goals and recording 17 total points in just 4Â games. The Sackets Harbor native's best performance came against RIT, where she recorded a 6-goal effort, including the game-winner in the 4th quarter.

Between the Pipes: Freshman
Hannah Parsons has emerged as a key contributor in the net for the Golden Eagles. Despite not yet starting a game, Parsons has logged over 113 minutes of action across 4 contests and leads Brockport goaltenders in saves (26), GAA (15.81), and save percentage (46.4%).

Erin Lant has started all four games for the Green and Gold, logging over 121 minutes of game action and holding a decision record of 1-3. Â Â

Scouting Cortland: The Red Dragons are coming off a 10-6 win over Endicott in Colorado Springs, improving their record to 3-2. Hannah Keech is one of 4 double-digit point scorers for Cortland, leading the way with 10 goals and an efficient 71.4% shot percentage. The last meeting saw Cortland come away with a 12-9 home win against the Golden Eagles. Cortland has gotten the better of Brockport in the series, winning 4 of the last 5 dating back to 2018.
