Brockport, NY – The SUNY Brockport men's lacrosse team is back at home this weekend for another conference matchup. This time the Golden Eagles host Oneonta for a 12pm start on Saturday.
Last Time Out: Brockport came up just short at home against Oswego in the SUNYAC opener, falling 9-8.
Nate Askin had four points on two goals and two assists to lead the team.
Ben Hay,
Jack Peterson, and
Carson Colucci each scored twice.
Jhovanny Olivares and
Ryan McCarthy combined for three assists.
Cameron Kuzniar came up with 18 saves on the day.
Leading Scorers: Nate Askin is the leading point-scorer for the Golden Eagles so far this year. He has totaled 21 points from 15 goals and six assists.
Jack Peterson is next with 17 points on 13 goals and four assists.
Jhovanny Olivares leads the team with nine assists to go with seven goals for a total of 16 points.
Kuzniar in Net: Cameron Kuzniar has played nearly every minute in net for the Green and Gold so far this season. Starting all eight games he has racked up 125 saves to record a .590 saves percentage. Against Nazareth he set a new career-high with 19 stops between the pipes.
Looking at Oneonta: The Oneonta Red Dragons enter this weekend's matchup with a record of 5-2 overall and 1-0 in the conference. They are currently on a four-game win streak after opening SUNYAC play with a 17-7 win over Potsdam. #9 Jamie O'Neil leads the team with a total of 39 points, behind 31 goals and eight assists. The primary starter in net, #18 Harrsion Boukas, has made 81 saves with a .513 saves percentage.
