Box Score 2 Brockport, NY – The SUNY Brockport Softball team hosted the University of Rochester for a Wednesday afternoon doubleheader at the Clark V. Whited Complex. The Golden Eagles fell 17-0 in the first game and 12-0 in the second. They are now 3-15 overall.
Game 1: The Yellowjackets got the ball rolling with six runs scored in the first inning, and four more in the second. They then added seven more runs in the next three innings to put the game away. Brockport was held hitless by U of R's Molly Broccolo (W, 9-2) who struck out four and walked one. Brockport's
Fiona Gibiser (L, 2-7) went the full way from the circle with two strikeouts.
Game 2: The U of R scored three runs in the first inning and the second inning to grab a quick 6-0 lead. The Yellowjackets scored six more across the next two innings on the way to the win. Maddie White (W, 3-0) got the win on the mound with seven strikeouts and the shutout.
Roseland Stroh (L, 1-4) got the start and went 2.1 innings before
Fiona Gibiser came back in to finish out the second game.
In the leadoff spot,
Erin Dougherty went 1-for-3 on the day.
Kellie Gentile provided a 1-for-2 effort at the plate in the second game.
Annie Dipirro and
Hannah Jacobs also were 1-for-2 during their game two stints.
The women will be back in conference play this weekend with a doubleheader Friday night at Buffalo State at 3pm & 5pm. The squad will then travel to Fredonia State to take on the Blue Devils Saturday in a 12pm and 2pm doubleheader.
