Brockport, N.Y.- The Brockport men's lacrosse team will head to Cortland for SUNYAC action against the Red Dragons on Saturday, April 15th at 1 pm.
Last Time Out: The Golden Eagles came away victorious against SUNY Potsdam last weekend on the road 10-nine in double overtime.
Jhovanny Olivares and
Nate Askin fueled the Brockport offense throughout, scoring 6 combined goals and tallying 7 points. Olivares's 4 goal effort led all Brockport scorers, and Askin secured the golden goal in double overtime to give the Golden Eagles the win.
Carson Colucci scored a clutch man-up goal with just 4 seconds remaining to send the Green and Gold to overtime. Goalie
Cameron Kuzniar earned SUNYAC Men's Lacrosse Defensive Athlete of the Week for his performance against Potsdam. The senior made 14 total saves while allowing just 9 goals across 65:55 of game action. Kuzniar was sharp in both overtimes, shutting out the Bears in 5 minutes and 55 seconds of overtime action. Brockport improved to 3-7 overall and 1-2 in the SUNYAC following the win.Â
Doing the Dirty Work: Senior
Anthony McGee has been the unsung hero of the Brockport defense thus far, leading the Green and Gold in caused turnovers with 13 on the season, as well as ground balls with 34, 15 more than any other Golden Eagle. The Warwick native set single-game career highs against Potsdam with nine ground balls and 2 forced turnovers.

Cameron Kuzniar leads all SUNYAC goalies in minutes played 185:55), and save percentage 66.2), and ranks second in the SUNYAC in saves 51).Â
Jhovanny Olivares ranks ninth in the SUNYAC in conference goals, with 7 goals in 3 SUNYAC games.
Anthony McGee ranks 4th in the conference with 15 ground balls and 5th in caused turnovers with 5.
Junior
Andrew DiPalma is ninth in SUNYAC play in faceoffs, going 17/51 in the circle. Â
Scouting Cortland: The Red Dragons currently sit at 7-4 overall on the year with a 2-1 record in the SUNYAC, most recently defeating New Paltz on the road 18-10. Cortland holds a balanced offensive attack with four players with 20+ goals, with seniors Jason Chiodo and Tyler Starrett leading the charge with 23 goals each. Brockport has not faired well against Cortland recently, winning just one of the last five and dropping last year's matchup 14-7 in Brockport.
