Brockport, N.Y.- The Golden Eagles Softball team will hit the road for two SUNYAC doubleheaders, beginning with a doubleheader against Buffalo State on Friday, April 14th at 3 pm and 5 pm, and ending with a matchup with Fredonia on Saturday, April 15th at 12 pm and 2 pm.
Last Time Out: Brockport fell in doubleheader action to #25 University of Rochester, 17-0, and 12-0.Â
Game One: Rochester scored early and often, jumping out to a 6-0 lead in the first thanks to a 3-run homer by sophomore Molly Mason, her first of the season. Freshman Molly Broccolo showed why she is one of the best arms in division 3, holding the Green and Gold hitless in 5 innings of work, and striking out five. Catcher
Jenna Downey drew a walk in the 5th to break up the perfect game and was the lone Brockport baserunner in game one.Â
Game Two: Much like game one, Rochester jumped out to an early 6-0 advantage at the end of the second and continued to pile on runs. The Brockport bats showed a fight in game two, highlighted by a long single from senior
Annie Dipirro in the 4th. Molly Mason launched a two-RBI triple in the third to put UofR up 10-0, finishing the two-game set going 5/7 from the plate with 11 RBIs. Brockport fell to 3-15 following the doubleheader.Â
Scouting Buffalo State: The Bengals have gotten off to a strong 12-6 start with a 2-0 record in SUNYAC play, most recently splitting a doubleheader with Nazareth College. Fredonia has gotten the better of the Green and Gold as of late, winning the last 3 matchups including the last contest 12-4.
