Geneseo, NY – The SUNY Brockport men's lacrosse team lost on the road Wednesday night, 18-5, to Geneseo in conference play. Brockport is now 2-4 in the SUNYAC and 4-9 overall with just one game left in the regular season.
The Knights had an explosive start to the game with eight goals in the first quarter. They scored in the first two minutes of play and did not let up. Brockport trailed the entire way in this conference matchup.
Geneseo led at halftime, 9-2, and would expand on that lead in the second half. With four more goals in the third and five in the fourth, Brockport was unable to keep up with Geneseo's offense. The Knights cruised to a win, locking up the No. 1 seed for the SUNYAC Tournament at 6-0 in the conference and 12-4 overall.
The Golden Eagles had five different goal scorers in the contest.
Ryan McCarthy,
Anthony McGee,
Bobby Alexander,
Garrett Smith, and
Mike O'Brien all found the back of the net.
Jhovanny Olivares registered the team's lone assist.
Cameron Kuzniar came up with 14 saves in the game as the goalie for the Green and Gold.
Brockport will host New Paltz for a 1pm meeting on Saturday for the final game of the regular season. It is Senior Day, as there will be a short ceremony prior to the contest to honor and recognize the Golden Eagle seniors.
