Brockport, N.Y.- The Brockport women's lacrosse team will begin the quest toward a SUNYAC championship under the lights on Saturday, April 29
th at 7 pm as it takes on #5 seed New Paltz.

Last Time Out: The Golden Eagles gained critical momentum before SUNYAC'S, defeating Buffalo State 16-2 on Wednesday in dominating fashion.
Cassidy Burnash,
Alayna Foos, and
Courtney Cunningham all recorded hat tricks in the first half to put the Green and Gold ahead 11-0 at the half. The Bengals would finally find paydirt early in the third before 4 straight Brockport goals would put the game well out of reach. Freshman
Amanda Evans collected her first collegiate goal at 5:23 in the fourth to put Brockport ahead 16-2.
Erin Lant earned the win between the pipes, allowing just one goal and making 4 saves in 50:10 of game action. Foos, Burnash, and Cunningham would finish the game with 13 combined goals, with Foos finishing with 5 goals and Burnash and Cunningham scoring 4 each. The win moved Brockport to 7-7 overall on the regular season, and finish 6-3 in SUNYAC play.

Regular Season Recap: The Green and Gold found their stride in conference play in the 2023 season. After beginning the season 1-5, the Golden Eagles strung together 3 straight SUNYAC victories, two of them by ten goals or more. Brockport would coast to a 3-2 finish in SUNYAC play, including a win over round 1 opponent New Paltz, to conclude the season and earn the 4 seed in the SUNYAC tournament. As a team, Brockport finished 3
rd in the SUNYAC in save percentage (48.3), goals against (74), and draw controls (120).

Top Performers: Brockport rode their 3 leading scorers to success in the 2023 campaign. Between the trio of
Cassidy Burnash,
Alayna Foos, and
Courtney Cunningham, they accounted for 106 goals and 148 points, creating over 67% of Brockport's goal production.
Cassidy Burnash finished the 2023 season with 41 goals and 70 total points, recording two or more points in all 14 regular season games and 5 or more points in 7/14 games. Freshman
Hannah Parsons emerged as the go-to option between the pipes, leading Brockport in saves (69), save percentage (45.78%), and minutes played (438:19). In addition to her 31 goals,
Courtney Cunningham was a two-way star for Golden Eagles. The senior led Brockport in ground balls (46), and draw controls (62), both good for 5
th overall in the SUNYAC.

Tournament Outlook: Following the conclusion of New Paltz Vs. Brockport, the winner will head to Cortland to take on the #1-seeded Red Dragons, while the winner of the second first-round game between Oneonta and Oswego will face Geneseo to take on the #2-seeded Knights. Both the semifinal and final rounds will be hosted by Cortland as the top seed.

Scouting New Paltz: The Hawks finished the regular season 9-6 overall and 5-4 in conference play, earning the 5
th seed in the SUNYAC tournament. New Paltz is led on offense by Kaitlyn Shaw, she finished the regular season with 46 goals and 57 points, good for 3
rd and 8
th overall in the SUNYAC. Brockport and New Paltz met recently on Brockport's senior day. The Golden Eagles won a competitive 13-9 contest that wrapped up the 4
th seed for the Green and Gold entering the SUNYAC tournament.
