Spencerport, NY - On Friday night the SUNY Brockport women's tennis team took on D'Youville for the final match of the season. The Golden Eagles pulled out the win, 6-3, finishing the year at 3-9 overall and 2-5 in the SUNYAC.
It was Senior Day at the Salmon Creek Country Club as the Golden Eagles honored this year's graduating class.
Elizabeth Sirico was the lone senior this time around, as a short ceremony was held to thank her for all the dedication and hardwork.
The squad grabbed two points in doubles play, including one by way of a forfeit. In the second doubles slot,
Shannon Aubin and
Samantha Aubin took the win, 8-4.
Eliza Gonzalez won in the first singles match in two sets 6-4, 6-4.
Emma Lissow also got the win in two sets as the player in third singles 6-3, 6-4.
Grace Trebilcock secured the team's fifth point of the match with her 7-6, 6-4 win in fifth singles.
Samantha Aubin was awarded the win in sixth singles by way of forfeit to earn Brockport's sixth match point.
The Golden Eagles did not qualify for the conference postseason this year, bringing their season to an end.
